Kim Brooks

Kim Brooks

Yoga Instructor

Kim has been practicing yoga around the world for more than 20 years. Regardless of where she roams, she finds connection and community in wellness spaces. Off the mat, you can find Kim at the beach, traveling, reading, or paddleboarding.

Kim’s instructional style comes largely from her training with Dani Reidy of Arrow Yoga. As a former elementary educator and literacy coach, Kim brings a love of teaching, encouraging empowerment, and nurturing relationships to Whole Yoga. Her classes are an accessible blend of Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yin techniques that aim to impart to others the sense of peace, presence, and acceptance she’s found for herself through yoga.

Zach Dalton

Zach Dalton

Yoga Instructor

As a teacher, Zach aims to create an environment of acceptance, equity, and charity, all with a sense of humor. Accessibility is incredibly important in his teaching, so his classes are truly catered to a mixed level experience. Whether one practices standing or seated, with or without props, Zach actively invites those who practice with him to engage themselves exactly as they are. Zach has spent many years cultivating a personal practice of compassion and aims to extend that to those who practice with him. His areas of experience and interest are alignment-based Hatha yoga, meditation, subtle body systems (nadis, vayus, chakras,) , restorative practices, and mudra.

Zach believes yoga is a journey to discovering your personal power and then utilizing that power to benefit the world around you.

Laurie Hyland Robertson

Laurie Hyland Robertson

MS in Yoga Therapy, C-IAYT, Yoga & Pilates Instructor

Laurie first began practicing yoga simply to get an effective, low-impact workout that didn’t exacerbate her knee problems—her first experiences with yoga, in 2001, were fast-paced, fitness-oriented classes that suited her type-A personality. Laurie has since reformed her stressed-out ways, largely through training as a yoga teacher and yoga therapist, and she now enjoys meditative classes as well as powerful yoga workouts. She believes strongly in the integrative healing power of both yoga and pilates for everyone, regardless of physical ability or previous experience. Laurie was a member of the first class of students in the Master of Science in Yoga Therapy program at Maryland University of Integrative Health, where she is now adjunct faculty, and has eRYT500 and YACEP designations. She is the Editor in Chief of Yoga Therapy Today.

Tom Hyland Robertson

Tom Hyland Robertson

DC, Yoga Instructor

Dr. Tom Hyland Robertson, RYT200, has been practicing yoga for more than 20 years, and enjoys the physical challenges of the asanas (poses). He also loves to practice slowing down and doing more internal work with meditation and pranayama. His extensive clinical study of anatomy and physiology lends a unique flavor to his classes, which often focus on progressively building strength and balance. Dr. Robertson has suffered from serious back injuries in the past, including degenerative and herniated lumbar discs, and he’s reversed the damage from these problems with regular yoga and meditation practice (chiropractic treatment and pilates, too). With his wife Laurie, he opened Whole Chiropractic in 2007 to bring effective, safe, alternative healing to the Odenton/Ft. Meade/West Anne Arundel communities.
